Getting Started
Please review the "behavior checklist" for common behaviors, impairments or difficulties for which Occupational Therapy can be beneficial.
For new clients who would like a full evaluation or other services, please submit the "initial intake form" located on the Forms page. The form packet includes all forms required before any therapy sessions.
After you submit your initial intake form, Trisha will contact you to schedule your initial visit. An initial Occupational Therapy evaluation will take an estimated 45-60 minutes, and will include a written report and if necessary, a treatment plan. The cost of the evaluation, written report and treatment plan is $300. Clients can access a copy of their evaluation report through a secure on-line patient portal.
Occupational Therapy sessions are 50 minutes long, allowing time for parent education and questions. The frequency and length of treatment plan varies based on each child's needs. Therapy sessions will include recommended home program activities to work on each week (see home-therapy supplies). Therapy sessions are $135. Other consultations requested by a parent, will be prorated at the $135 hourly rate. Please review how you can avoid unnecessary credit-card processing fees here.
Pediatric OT is best provided in a neutral, structured and controlled environment utilizing fun and engaging activities to keep children focused on therapeutic tasks. My emphasis is on intensive in-clinic sessions, rather than home-based therapy or teletherapy, for a number of reasons regarding the efficiency and effectiveness of valuable session time. While OT can be helpful in the home for elderly patients and those who need assistance in the home, children who require OT often need therapy to improve certain abilities required throughout their daily lives at school, daycare, in social settings, as well as home. I provide simple activities for parents to utilize between therapy sessions, but these home-based programs are designed to supplement in-clinic therapy. Please read some of my observations about teletherapy and home-based care by clicking here.
I'm currently In-Network with Cigna, and Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO plans (no HMO or Anthem Point-of-Sale plans). Occupational Therapy is often covered by out-of-network benefits. For clients seeking out-of-network benefits, I will provide itemized invoices with diagnosis and treatment codes required for reimbursement, should you have out-of-network benefits for OT. To learn more about the insurance requirements, I've added more information to my insurance page.

At TLC Occupational Therapy, we provide in-clinic therapy sessions with proper safety protocols in place. While we will provide teletherapy, consider Trisha's viewpoints on the drawbacks of teletherapy.
